Tiny HandsTalking is a sign language class designed for hearing children ages 3 and up. Through music, children’s literature, hands-on and early reading activities children will discover the joy and benefits of a second language. "Research indicates that learning a second language stimulates a child’s cognitive development. Sign language develops more of the brain than learning a spoken language. Sign language improves children's reading ability, vocabulary, self-esteem, spelling proficiency and expressing emotions." Tiny Hands Talking teaches children to read various sight words through sign language which prepares them to become independent readers. New themes are introduced each week to encourage and motivate children to learn a variety of signs that can be used at home and school. The main goal of Tiny Hands Talking is to create a positive and fun learning environment where children can successfully nurture a second language. |
